It is a privilege to again be able to share our efforts as the Festival Committee has worked hard to produce the 17th Minot Prairie Quilt Festival. We have a fine mix of classes, demon-strations and lectures that will appeal to new quilters as well as challenge seasoned quilters.

We are sure that you all have heard of our National Teacher, Mark Lipinski. Mark's no-holds-barred classes and dinner presentation will be one of the most memorable and raucous quilt-ing experiences of your hobby lifetime! Mark's classes will be full of action, wild, irreverent humor, rare "these are the facts, kids" quilting truths, and loads of quilting tips and tricks. Don't miss this chance to experience Mark live! Our local teachers have really outdone themselves in presenting exciting classes, demos and lectures.

Our vendors are preparing their best fabrics, patterns, kits and gadgets to entice you so you'll have lots of fun shopping during the three-day festival. Better start saving up now; you won't want to miss any of the bargains!

We are very proud to feature the work of Janice Talley as our featured quilter. Janice has been an active member of the quilt guild and never hesitates to help out where she can. Her work is absolutely stunning, she often comes up with some whimsical pieces and we can't wait to showcase her work.

We are again opening Registration at 11:00a.m. on Friday and the Merchants Mall will be available at 12:00 to enable you to pick up any last minute supplies.

We are featuring a special challenge category this year based on the table favors that were distributed at meals last year. We are excited to see how you incorporate your Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter blocks into your quilted piece.

Lastly, we'd like to announce that next year we will feature Sally Schnieder and Kathryn Squibb and Deborah Jacobs from Gathering Friends as our national teachers. If you are looking to use your scraps, you won't want to miss taking a class with Sally. Next year's Festival will be held March 18-20, 2011, and we hope you will mark it on your calendar.

So get busy on those quilts and that challenge quilt because we look forward to seeing you in March!

See you soon!

Lynn and Jennifer
